Road works on the M3 between junctions 2 and 4a
The national website for UK motorwarys, Highways England , recently updated a full report on a major road project on the M3 between junctions 2 and 4a, near Woodlands Lane Bridge. This initiative was taken following the higher than normal level of congestions at peak times. The project will last until June 2017, yet the necessary actions have been taken to maintain three lanes of traffic on both carriages and limit full closures to a minimum. In case of accidents or breakdowns, there is a 24/7 CCTV system that enables a dedicated on-site vehicle recovery service to manage the incidents as quickly as possible.
The project created many jobs for local people and provided opportunities to students. Lastly, an ecologist team with the Surrey Wildlife Trust took the necessary measures to protect the wildlife and its surrounding environment.
